Collins Transport

FDC (VIC) has recently completed a Design and Construct contract to build the 39,555sqm Collins Transport facility at 189 Australis Drive, Derrimut.

Collins Transport is a family business, owned and operated by the Collins family in Adelaide. Since its conception in 1965, the business has become one of the leading transporters for fresh fruits and vegetables, across Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.

The project included a trucking compound, office build, one refrigerated warehouse with ten freezers controlled independently down to -28C, two dry goods warehouses, workshop areas and driver’s quarter facility for 16 drivers at any one time.

The freezer build will adopt a full sub-floor ventilation system that will insulate 2,448sqm of the freezer areas for Collins.

The project was delivered over 10 month period from design sign-off.
