Project Description

A combination of external and internal refurbishment, the Palms Centre was a major logistic challenge. Whilst the Centre operated as normal, FDC had to undertake extensive and difficult works in public and commercial areas, along with a new office area built upon the roof.

Covering approximately 3,500sqm, the external works on the site included the introduction of modern, sophisticated finishes and features to revitalise the Centre. This involved a new facade treatment, forecourts, entry points, awnings and oversized signage.

Internal works included relocation of a number of shop fronts, improving structure and order to the Centre. Enormous areas of terrazzo flooring and ceiling panels were updated, as well as lighting, audio visual, signage and services upgrades. FDC operated with twenty-four hour shifts on multiple fronts to minimise impact on tenants and patrons.
