HSBC is one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organisations serving more than 100 million customers worldwide through 9,500 offices in 85 countries.
Construction of this data centre for HSBC involved the stripout of an existing office and upgrading it to a 52 rack data centre within an occupied office tower. The works included incorporation of all new infrastructure into a live site.
The installation is an N+1 configuration and included the upgrade of two existing base building transformers; new MSB’s; UPS backing with MTS & ATS functionality; new generator installation and the construction of a new plant deck over the existing carpark to house the additional chiller units.
This project was particularly challenging in that it required integration into an existing data centre on the floors above as well as ensuring that there was no interruption to the live services to the 20 storeys of tenants within the building
