Lindsay Bennelong Developments (LBD) is a major property development firm with commercial, industrial and residential sites across the Sydney Region. FDC was selected by LBD to deliver a purpose-built, state of the art Data Centre facility as the first building for their business precinct located at Gore Hill Technology Park.
FDC was presented with the challenge of coordinating the base build and fitout to simultaneously suit the requirements of a Top 50 ASX listed company. The fitout has a gross floor area of approximately 14,000sqm with 3,200sqm of dedicated data hall space; 1,600sqm of disaster recovery office space and 3,000sqm of related plant and equipment space, completed and commissioned ready for use. The building also has provision for a further 3,200sqm of data hall space and 3,000sqm of plant space in addition to the above.
The Data Centre will operate 24 hours per day, 365 days per year and comprises 4,000m of cable basket, 2,000m of cable ladder, 300,000m of copper data cabling, 21,000m of fibre data cabling, 24,000m of sub-main cabling, 60,000m of sub-circuit cabling, 1070 power outlets for racks, 23 power distribution units and 22 switchboards.
FDC were able to deliver the project ahead of all contract dates for early access and practical completion, and to the high standards expected by the client for a high spec data centre.
This project was awarded a NSW MBA Award for Best Communication Building (Data Centre) in 2012.
