FDC shone at the 2017 NSW Master Builders Association (MBA) ‘Excellence in Construction’ Awards, taking home eight awards on the weekend. This year saw FDC lead by example with two award wins in the tertiary buildings category, as well as first position in each of the commercial buildings, sporting facilities, industrial buildings and new building categories, and wins in the refurbishment / renovation / extension and site safety categories. These awards are an addition to the two QLD MBA Awards secured by our QLD team earlier this year and bring the total number of awards that FDC have secured in 2017 to 10.

Following on from outstanding performances in previous years, we have confirmed our status as an industry leader. Project teams took out top honours for innovative fitout and refurbishments of the Navitas educational facility and the Western Sydney University, as well as a stunning renovation and extension of the ATO’s new headquarters in Penrith, NSW.

First prize was also awarded for several of the team’s major construction projects including the state-of-the-art Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre, the NRMA’s five-storey commercial centre at Sydney Olympic Park, and stages 1 & 2 of the G Brothers Mercedes-Benz showroom on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. There was also a first place for the ground-breaking IKEA distribution centre, featuring over 70,000sqm of warehouse and office space.

The Awards, presented at a gala dinner at Sydney’s The Star Event Centre, celebrate innovation and leading practice within Australia’s building and construction industry.

We are also thrilled to announce that two projects have progressed through to the National MBA Awards (being NRMA for Best Commercial Construction $20M – $50M and William Inglis & Son for Site Safety) to be held in Tasmania on 25th November.

“FDC prides itself on creating the best places and the best user experiences in all of our construction and fitout projects,” states Ben Cottle, founder and Managing Director of FDC. “We’re thrilled to accept these accolades and are proud to have delivered such a range of innovative projects.”

According to Mr Cottle, this success is largely due to the focus and commitment of his team. “We are focused and hard-working, we think outside the square, perform to our best and we’re respectful of others,” he said.  “By investing in these basic principles, we have earned an envied reputation for trustworthiness, reliability, collaboration, fairness, innovation, safety and quality.”
