Through the collaborative efforts of organisers, sponsors, prize givers, table purchasers, auction purchasers and donors, a total of $148,804.43 was handed over to Giant Steps at a ‘handover ceremony’.

All proceeds of this year’s event go to Giant Steps, to enable the school to support and educate children and families experiencing Autism. Autism is a pervasive development disorder which affects social and communication skill and, to a greater or lesser degree, motor and language skills. Giant Steps was founded to help educate children and families experiencing autism, to alleviate associated stress and to guide in the achievement of measurable results.

To date, the funds raised have been used to refurbish the Clock Tower Stairs, the Community Centre and the Occupational Therapy Room at the school.

Thank you to everyone that helped make the 2015 Melbourne Cup fundraising event such a success. Photos of the handover ceremony and the refurbished areas at the school are below.

We look forward to seeing you at this year’s event!
