FDC have completed a 5,000sqm office space and 13,000sqm warehouse for FedEx, 2 Military Road, Matraville (NSW).

FedEx Corp. provides customers and businesses worldwide with a broad portfolio of transportation, e-commerce and business services. The company offers integrated business applications through operating companies competing collectively and managed collaboratively, under the respected FedEx brand.

FDC were engaged on behalf of Dexus to deliver the base building upgrade with integrated fitout and structural modifications to accommodate the tenant; FedEx.

The project included the refurbishment of the existing office building, construction of a new reception, staff café, bathroom and change rooms, open workstation spaces, meeting rooms, main communications room and 2 supplementary communications rooms and a retail service center.

The services upgrade included new electrical, communications & lighting services, new tenant supplementary mechanical systems, new plumbing to tea points and bathrooms, fire services upgrade and security and CCTV systems.

Major services upgrades included a new main switchboard and new passenger lift.

The base building structural modification included a new loading yard complete with 11 loading bays and awning extensions, installation of new sky lights to the warehouse, internal & external lighting upgrade, landscaping works to the exterior and replacement of exiting perimeter fence.

The warehouse fitout included FDC managing FedEx’s conveyor subcontractor, construction of new ABF held bond storage area, a cool room, installation of a car park exhaust system, new power & data services to accommodate FedEx’s operations along with an enhancement to the fire systems to suit the new use. FDC Technologies completed the electrical, data and lighting works.

In addition, FDC undertook 27,000sqm external works on this site.

The staged delivery was undertaken over 14 months in conjunction with building owner; Dexus, Project Managers; CBRE, Interior Designers; Arnold Lane, Exterior Architect; SHED, Services Engineer; Aston Consulting, Structural Engineer; Costin Roe and the client; FedEx Australia.
