Melbourne Cup Fundraiser 2017
November 7 @ 12:00 pm - 4:30 pm| $195 - $1900
Following on from the $200,924.50 raised in 2016 – which assisted The Kids’ Cancer Project to pioneer the ‘Re-engage’ program equipping young survivors with the skills to cope with health challenges that follow cancer treatment – we are focusing our 2017 fundraiser on raising funds in support of brain cancer research.
Many people don’t realise brain cancer kills more children than any other disease in Australia, and more adults under 40 than any other type of cancer. Yet it receives less than five percent of Federal Government cancer funding.
On average each year in Australia approximately 1600 brain cancers are diagnosed which works out to be around 1 person diagnosed every 5 hours. Unfortunately brain cancer survival rates have barely changed in 30 years.
We hope to harness the support of business friends and allied subcontractors to raise funds for brain cancer research and work towards increasing survival rates and finding a cure. As always, every single dollar raised goes to the cause and is fully audited.
